AVID, College & Career Exploration


Mrs. Whitman attended Adams State College from 2000-2001, and then transferred to the University of Northern Colorado from 2001-2005. She majored in English/Langauge Arts with an Emphasis in Secondary Education. She student taught at Eaton Middle School, as well as, a substitute teacher.






Mrs. Whitman began her teaching career here at Fort Lupton Middle School in 2006-2007 teaching 7th grade Regular and Advanced Writing. She moved to 8th grade to teach Regular and Advanced Language Arts in 2007-2008. During this time, she was an active member on the AVID Site Team, and in 2008-2009 she moved to the AVID Elective Teacher classroom. She has been the AVID elective teacher to present. As well as AVID, she has taught Drama and RISE, which is a class to help spread the awareness of colleges and careers for all students.  


Mrs Whitman is an active person with coaching FLMS 8th grade B team for the 2013 season. SHe loves spending time reading, writing, and hanging out with family. She is a proud parent of her 2 year old son and supporting her husband in his Varsity Baseball team. She loves to travel and exploring different areas of the United States.
