Bachelor of Science Degree Colorado State University (CSU) with teacher certification in Biology.

Master's Degree from University of Colorado (CU) in Curriculum and Instruction (Language and Literacy).

Mrs. Duarte has been teaching science and other subjects for a number of years; in fact she taught the parents of some of her current students at FLMS in the 1990's. 

Her teaching experience includes:

•3 1/2 years in the US Peace Corps Paraguay (1987-1990)

•9 years at FLMS as a Science Teacher (1991-2000)

•2 years at the Denver Zoo in Education Department doing student outreach and teacher training (2000-2002)

•7 years in the St. Vrain Valley SD at Coal Ridge Middle School and Frederick High School Teaching Science and ESL (2002-2009)

•9th year back at FLMS teaching Science and working at a Gifted and Talented Coordinator. She returned in the Fall of 2009 after being gone from the disrict for 9 years.  While she enjoyed all of her other jobs, she is thrilled to be back in the community she loves.


Carol Duarte is the 7th Grade Science Teacher and one of the two Gifted and Talented coordinators at Fort Lupton Middle School.  This is her 25th year of teaching and her 18th year at Fort Lupton Middle School.  She taught science at the Middle School from 1991-2000 and has been back at the Middle School since 2009.  She also served in the US Peace Corps in Paraguay, worked in the Education Department at the Denver Zoo and taught in Frederick for 7 years.  Mrs. Duarte has a Bachelor of Science degree from CSU, and Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from CU Denver.
