Subjects Taught

She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) with a Master's degree in Teaching the Linguistically Diverse (K-12) in 2008. Prior to that she received her Bachelor's degree in Elementaty Education (K-6) at UNC as well. She attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where she began her academic career with an Associates degree in General Education.

Barb Miles has spent the past ten years enjoying her teaching career and her students at Ft. Lupton, Colorado. Barb teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Intermediate English as a second language (ESL).

Barbara Miles was born and raised in Littleton, New Hampshire.  She is the youngest of of nine and came from a family of teachers. Her years growing up in N.H. were spent water-skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter. Barb also spent her teen years showing horses and later training Arabian horses.

Her desire to teach came later in life when she was living and working in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Miles had her own housecleaning business in Steamboat and was enjoying a comfortable way of life, but she wanted something more.  One day she was cleaning a home near the Colorado Mountain College and decided to stop by to see if she was "college material." Within the year she was enrolled at CMC, became a member of Phi Theta Kapa and her academic career took off.  She earned many scholarships while attending CMC which includes: Guistwhite Scholarship, Colorado Student of the Year through Coca Cola, and more.

After two years at CMC, she moved to Greeley, Colorado and recieved her Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree at UNC. Barb attended her first and only job fair at UNC after her Bachelor degree and was hired at FLMS. She fell in love with the students, enjoys the staff, and the new idea that we are a World Class School suits Miles just fine.
