Subjects Taught

Erin attended Colorado State University where she studied Anthropology. After graduation, Erin attended Metro State University of Denver where she received her M.A.T in Education and her endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education. She hopes to one day return to school for her Ph.D. in Literacy.

Erin has always worked in the education sector since graduating college. She spent 6 years working in student finance at a college. Since then, she has taught English Language Development in Cherry Creek schools (K-5), spent several years as a 3rd grade teacher in the Brighton school district, and has landed in her "home" here at FLMS teaching English Language Development and Language Arts.

Erin Powell is originally from Greeley, Co (our neighbor to the north)! She graduated high school from Greeley and then attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After college graduation, she migrated to New York City to experience life in the big city. After a few years, a ton of Broadway shows, and way too much money spent on rent, she returned home to Colorado and settled in the Brighton/Henderson area. She has been married since 2011, has 3 beautiful children, and is a proud military wife. She and her family enjoy road trips, being outdoors, "nerding out" at Comic Con, and playing with their rambunctious pit bull mix, Dani. She also really enjoys reading and can often juggles reading several novels at once!
