I earned my undergraduate English degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. I then decided to pursue my English Language Arts teaching certification for grades 6-12 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2017. On Wisconsin!!

After graduating from UW-Madison, I spent six months interning as an editor with a regional magazine, BRAVA. While working for BRAVA, I decided to return to school and pursue a career in education. I moved to Green Bay and spent a year taking courses before returning to Madison, where I landed my ideal student-teaching position. I worked at Madison West High School and was then hired on for second semester as a long-term substitute teacher.

When I finished out the year at West, it was time to look for my first full-time position and decided that I wanted to make a move. Therefore, I looked to Colorado. I was fortunate enough to land a job while conducting the search from several states away and am currently in my first year at FLMS!

I grew up in a very small community, about 2,000 people, as the daughter of a school teacher and small business owner. I have two older siblings, and my brother was beyond disappointed to find out he was having a baby sister--so I grew up playing football and doing my best to be a little brother isntead. Later on, when I wasn't playing volleyball, basketball, soccer or dancing, I spent weekends with my dad, who was the head coach, at wrestling tournaments. My friends and family are the most important thing in the world to me.

Nowadays, when I'm not writing lesson plans or grading papers, I love to read (choice books--not textbooks), hike, cook, craft, practice yoga, run, and nap. My best days are spent using up my creative energy. And napping. Did I mention napping? Love that.
