On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 , from 0800 AM until about 1130 (Actual event beginning at 1000 AM) you will see numerous first responders and a mock accident scene in the area of the Fort Lupton High School located at Reynolds Ave. and S. Park Ave. This will include fire, police, ambulances, and a medical helicopter. This is not an actual emergency. This is an exercise called “Every 15 Minutes”.
The Every 15 Minutes Program offers real-life experience without the real-life risks. This emotionally charged program is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol and/or being distracted while driving. This powerful program will challenge students to think about drinking, texting while driving, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved. The event is coordinated by the Fort Lupton Police Department, Weld Re-8 School District, the families, parents, emergency agencies, dispatch, City of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Med Evac, Platte Valley Ambulance Service, and other various agencies. We ask that you please avoid this area during these times.
